Presented in HD, Cape Horn tells the story of Ben van der Steen, Tine Slabe and Thomas Miklautsch as they attempt to navigate the notorious Cape Horn on the southernmost tip of Tierra del Fuego on windsurfboards in 2009, supported by their camera crew.
They wanted to capture the myth of the Cape and get a better understanding of the ‘old day’ sailors and buccaneers, who navigated the most southern tip of South America without engines or any kind of modern navigation systems.
Starting from the Pacific coast in Chile, and travelling southbound to the Patagonian lakes, they arrive at the end of the world in Tierra del Fuego. While experiencing a typical crab fishing day, the guys learn a lot about the currents, the winds and the stories from a local fisherman.
Will they be able to windsurf the stormy waters of Cape Horn?
